A year ago, WCS Amsterdam hosted its very first event at Gebrouwen door Vrouwen. Since then, the chapter has been bringing women working across cleantech and sustainability together, building a local community to learn from and lean on.
This November we’re heading back to where it all started to celebrate our first birthday. Expect a relaxed evening of drinks, birthday cake and easy conversation: a chance to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new people in the field and hear what’s coming next for the chapter. Whether you’re a WCS member, have been to one of our events before or are a new face, you’re very welcome to join us.

Gebrouwen door Vrouwen (Brewed by Women)
What started in 2013 as sisters Do and Tessel de Heij brewing in a 35-litre pan in their kitchen has grown into one of the best-known craft beer brands in the Netherlands. Gebrouwen door Vrouwen was built by women in an industry long run by men, with a mission to make beer culture open and welcoming, especially to the women it so often left out. Today an all-women team runs the brand, and their community-funded bar in Amsterdam Oud-West is a cosy, welcoming home for tastings, quizzes and get-togethers.
