GizmoSQL: DuckDB, Anywhere You Want It
DuckDB is great in-process, but real workloads eventually need a server — shared state, remote clients, concurrent AI agents. GizmoSQL is that server: a lightweight, statically compiled SQL engine that wraps DuckDB with Apache Arrow Flight SQL, delivering 1 TB TPC-H in under two minutes for pennies, at ~90% lower cost than traditional cloud warehouses.
In this 15–20 minute session, I'll cover what GizmoSQL is, the breadth of where it runs — on-prem, in your VPC, on Kubernetes, even on an iPhone — and finish with one focused live demo.

How Rill is Re-Imagining Its Cloud Analytics Service with DuckDB's Quack Protocol
Rill's cloud analytics service runs on DuckDB, serving thousands of users across dozens of enterprise customers. The dev workflow has always been split: local environments push to Git-backed Rill Cloud projects, which iterates fast on code — but data modeling changes propagate slowly to deployed instances and often trigger full database rebuilds.
In this 15–20 minute session, I'll share how we're re-architecting the cloud service around Quack, DuckDB's newly released client-server protocol. Quack lets us connect local development environments directly to deployed production instances, collapsing the iteration loop for both human and agent-based workflows.
