The future of Prescribing - a foresight workshop exploring the future role of AI in treatment decisions
Algorithms are already shaping some clinical decisions, from diagnostics to risk stratification. But what if, in the future, algorithms went further, for example, deciding treatment plans and prescriptions themselves?
This is the ‘what if?’ scenario that we will explore together in this participatory foresight workshop that will invite all curious people in the room to explore the societal, ethical, and governance implications of this possible (potential? likely?) scenario of the future.
Participants will work in small groups, each representing a key voice in the health ecosystem - such as patients groups, medical associations, regulatory authorities, tech developers, or hospital administrators. Each group will identify their top 3-4 priorities for shaping public debate and influencing policy in a world where algorithms play a central role in care decisions.
Facilitated by Agathe Acchiardo, health futurist, and Aline Noizet, digital health influencer, this workshop will help surface points of tension, trade-offs, and competing values in this ‘what if’ scenario.
With this cross-stakeholder approach, participants will gain insights into emerging strategic choices that may shape the future of AI-driven prescriptions.
This workshop is also an opportunity to discover and play with future thinking methods, and to train your futuring muscle!
