Tour de startup
Curious about what it’s really like to work in a startup? 👀
Join us on May 13th from 14:00-20:00 for Tour de Startup - an afternoon where we take you on a ride through some of Aarhus’ most exciting startups and funds.
Together with a small group of engaged students, we’ll visit 3-4 selected companies - one stage at a time - and get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how they actually work - from culture and day-to-day tasks to growth, decision-making, and career paths.
This is not a typical event. It’s an opportunity to step inside real companies, ask questions along the route, and connect with the people building them.
Throughout the tour, we’ll keep you fueled with snacks and drinks - and we’ll cross the finish line with a shared dinner and networking session together with representatives from the participating companies
🏢 Companies you’ll meet
🚀 Formalize
A fast-growing SaaS company helping businesses manage compliance and risk — with a strong focus on scaling internationally.
During the visit, you’ll meet Lauritz Bundgaard Grost a master’s student at Aarhus BSS, working part-time at Formalize - and a previous member of BSS Startup.
Laurits will share his journey from student to working in a fast-growing startup, giving you a relatable and honest perspective on what it’s actually like to take a less traditional career path.
You’ll also get insight into how Formalize operates as a scaling tech company, how teams work in a high-growth environment, and what challenges come with expanding into new markets.
💡 The Kitchen - Aarhus university
A hub for entrepreneurship at Aarhus University, supporting students and early-stage founders in building and developing their ideas.
At The Kitchen, you’ll get insight into how the local startup ecosystem is supported from the ground up - from idea to execution - and how students can get involved, explore entrepreneurship, and take their first steps into building something of their own.
📈 Founderment
Representing Founderment, you’ll meet Anders Boelskifte Mogensen, founder of Founderment and co-founder of Guest (later acquired by Airbnb).
Anders will share his perspective from both sides of the table - as a founder and now as an investor - giving you unique insights into how startups are built, scaled, and backed.
You’ll get a deeper understanding of what investors look for in founding teams, what makes a startup stand out, and how you can position yourself on the radar of VCs — whether as a future founder or part of a startup.
🌟 Cernel
An ambitious startup building the next generation of ecommerce infrastructure through AI-powered agents.
Cernel is developing an advanced agent framework that can analyse data, make decisions, and automate complex workflows across systems - helping ecommerce teams improve performance.
