About Event

We're joined by Ryan Dolley, an independent data and analytics adviser and host of the Super Data Brothers Show, for a live conversation in our DPM webinar series.

Analytics teams have inherited a simple assumption: if something was expensive to build, it should live for years. Dashboards and applications accumulate because nobody wants to discard the effort that went into them.

AI-assisted development, DuckDB in the browser and WebAssembly make it possible to assemble self-contained analytics applications for one user or a narrow audience. An app can remain private and temporary. If it proves useful, it can earn promotion into a shared, governed product. If it does not, it can disappear without months of sunk effort arguing for its survival.

In this live conversation, Ryan Dolley and Nick Zervoudis will explore disposable analytics as both a new architectural unit and a different culture of building. They will ask which habits were created by the old cost of building, what an app should prove before it earns durability, and how temporary analysis can coexist with trusted data products.

What we'll unpack

  • Why analytics teams preserve outputs long after their usefulness has faded

  • What makes a self-contained analytics app genuinely disposable

  • How private, temporary analysis can coexist with shared data products

  • What an app should prove before it is promoted into distribution and governance

  • How product thinking changes when creation is cheap but trust, adoption and maintenance are not

What you'll walk away with

  • A practical mental model for choosing whether to keep, promote or delete an analytics app

  • Better questions for separating one-off analysis from a durable data product

  • A clearer view of the cultural and governance changes behind AI-assisted BI

  • New ways to think about the front end of analytics beyond dashboards and reports

Perfect for: Data leaders, data product managers, analytics engineers, BI practitioners and anyone interested in the business implications of agentic analytics.

Bring your questions: audience Q&A will be brought in as the conversation develops.

About the Data & AI Product community

Data and AI product management is still a young discipline, and there aren't many spaces dedicated to learning from peers.

So we started this meetup in 2023 to change that! Since then, it's grown into a vibrant community with chapters in London, Barcelona, and Paris.

Whether or not "product" is in your job title, if you're involved in shaping data, analytics, and AI initiatives (e.g. product managers, strategists, BAs, data scientists, engineers, analysts) you'll find like-minded people here.

This is an informal, welcoming space to swap lessons and share challenges. At our in-person meetups, we also enjoy drinks and snacks along the way.

You can meet us in person at our in-person meetups, but also join our global community where we have expert webinars, training courses, job postings, resources, and discussions.

Quick FAQ

  • Will this event be recorded? Yes, we will upload the recording here, along with previous DPM Community webinars

  • If I sign up to this event, will I be opting into any marketing emails? No. We only use the Luma mailing list to invite you to upcoming community events and share community updates (like our end of year membership survey). You can always opt out of the Luma calendar.

  • Can I mention this to a friend or colleague? Yes, of course! If they're based in London, send them this event. If they're elsewhere, share the Circle livestream link in the How to join section, so they don't get invited to all our London in-person meetups too.

  • Why are you doing this? Data & AI Product Management is a nascent field, and we created this community to bring together practitioners and help share our skills and experiences with those newer to DPM.
