About Event

Sovereign Stacks is a small unconference on the future of personal computing, including privacy, data sovereignty, local AI inference, operating systems, and control of the agents that work on our behalf.

The weekend is about applying the lessons of the last 30 years of computing to the systems that come next. We will consider how open and local AI models, crypto, declarative design, formal verification, and alternatives operating systems can support sovereign infrastructure in an age of agents. We are bringing together engineers, researchers, hackers, designers, investors, and others who want to engage seriously with these questions.

We hope to leave with a stronger philosophical and architectural basis for SpacesOS, an open-source project for user-owned computing environments, alongside a clearer sense of how to take the project forward.

Format

As an unconference, participants shape the agenda and lead the discussions, making the weekend a working session rather than a program of presentations.

Agenda

Friday, 7:00 pm
Opening drinks, introductions, and a short presentation to frame the weekend. Participants suggest topics and organize the discussion groups for Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Participant-led discussion groups, workshops, breakouts, and informal conversations.

Sunday, 5:00 pm
Each group lead gives a short presentation on what emerged in the discussion, and any next steps.

About SpacesOS

As agents become part of everyday computing, people need more control over where they run and what they can access. Today, many agents operate inside systems owned by large corporations. Those providers often control the data, tools, and rules around them.

SpacesOS explores a different approach. It treats a computing environment as something a person or group can set up, inspect, move between machines, and keep running on their own terms. They decide what data and tools are available in that environment, and what permissions an agent has.

The project brings together open-source systems, private infrastructure, isolated working environments, and local models. It is early work. Sovereign Stacks is for people who want to examine the project closely and help decide what it should become.

SpacesOS is maintained by Generational Infrastructure. Learn more at spacesos.org.
