📘 “When the Last Tree Falls” - By Hashem Abdi
"A thrilling tale of challenge and courage in a time of chaos that has gripped the Horn of Africa. When The Last Tree Falls is a climate historical fiction that revolves around a young boy named Naeem, who lives in a remote village in Somalia. Qilad, is not like most villages; it has escaped most of the worst that was to come after the civil war erupted. One day, the villagers notice that some of the forest's trees have gone missing. Determined to stop this from continuing, Naeem and his two closest friends take it upon themselves to stop the forces that threaten their future. This novel shows the deep scars left after man-made climate catastrophes and the never-ending battle to put life back together after it happens."
