About Event

This December, we’re gathering again with esteemed English-Irish poet David Whyte and musicians Owen and Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin for an afternoon of story and music, sound and silence. Each time we come together around their work, we leave with new understanding for both the mundane and the spectacular. It keeps us coming back. This time, their readings and performances will guide us through The Turning of the Tides—that subtle, powerful moment between when change announces itself, quietly but unmistakably, and carries us toward the next form of our lives.

This year, we’ll gather at the House of Sound, McIntosh Audio and Sonus Faber’s remarkable New York Home. It is one of the most coveted sound environments in the world, designed for the kind of attention and presence that Whyte and the Ó Súilleabháin brothers’ crafts deserve. It has also become a cultural hub in its own right: a place where ideas, performance and technology meet.

On Saturday, December 6th, from 4–7 PM, you’re invited to step inside this extraordinary space. We’ll share light food and drink, settle into the  architecture of sound, and listen as David, Owen and Mícheál help us explore what turns, what returns and what waits just beyond the horizon of change.
