Using AI and Open Data to Strengthen Transparency and Climate-Resilience

​This session explores how artificial intelligence and open data can support climate-resilient and resource governance, with a focus on real-world applications from Africa and other emerging contexts. Drawing on recent project work, the event will highlight how AI-powered dashboards and decision-support tools can improve transparency, enable evidence-based policymaking, and strengthen climate adaptation efforts in land, mining, and natural resource management.

​Participants will gain insight into how data-driven approaches can bridge the gap between climate information and practical decision-making, particularly in settings where institutional capacity and data availability remain key challenges. The session will also discuss ethical considerations, inclusion, and the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in deploying AI responsibly for climate action.
