Under the Moon: Ft. Ann Fraioli (Billion Oyster Project)
We’re excited to welcome you on Friday, Mar 6th, 6-8pm for our March Under the Moon — a gathering of climate art, science & action every full moon, open to anyone 🌕
This moon, we are hosting Ann Fraioli, who will discuss her journey and work as Director of Education at Billion Oyster Project and one of the founding teachers at New York Harbor School.
Ann will begin by talking a bit about herself and the journey that led her to education and the marine world. As a founding teacher at New York Harbor School, she will cover the early days of the school and the new school movement that swept across New York City, permanently lettering the public education landscape. From there, we will take a deep dive into how Billion Oyster Project grew out of Harbor School and has expanded to engage over 50,000 students and restore over 180,000 oysters.
Join us on Mar 6 at Chan Space New York, to learn more about the marine education happening right at the city’s doorstep 🌊
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
As a founding teacher of New York Harbor School, Ann brings her knowledge of field science and love of teaching to the Billion Oyster Project, where she is Director of Education.
When she's not in the classroom or at the water's edge educating others, you will find her enjoying the outdoors and spending time with her son, Theo. Ann is a pathfinder currently working to expand harbor literacy through the development of new Harbor Schools focused on the marine environment and careers.
