Zeta House • Friendsgiving 2025 + Presenting Protocol Embassy
Join us for our annual Friendsgiving celebration. We will have the traditional Turkey and stuffings and drinks all provided.
See photos of our 2024 event: https://zeta.house/events/2024-friendsgiving-at-zeta-house
Guests are encouraged to bring something to the party! Feel free to let us know what you're bringing so we don't have too much of any one thing.
This is our chance to gather at the actual physical anchor of our work, the structure and land that allows us to run the kind of deep, long-term technical and social experiments that you just can't pull off in a standard rented office.
While we’re enjoying the feast, we want to kick off a conversation about the next evolution of this base: the Protocol Embassy.
What’s the Embassy? (And Why Here?)
Zeta House is already a hub for high-agency people, those who don't just consume the modern world, but actively try to write the rules for the next one.
We’re proposing the Protocol Embassy as an intense 1–3 month residency/retreat that serves as a living laboratory. It's a place where builders, thinkers, and capital stewards can co-locate to forge the verifiable trust required to build systems that genuinely last.
The challenge is simple: the modern world runs on complex, centralized platforms (like Big Tech, big banks, and government systems) that are often brittle and extract huge amounts of rent. Our solution isn't fighting them. It's rendering them obsolete with the power of protocols.
The New Playbook: Proof Over Promises
Instead of optimizing for short-term status games, we focus on the meta-game, designing systems that reward actual value creation.
• The Strategy (The Quiet Takeover): Think of centralized platforms (like AWS or GitHub) as delivery trucks. They handle the heavy lifting of moving data and executing code. Our strategy is to overlay a superior, secure layer of logic on top of their systems. Over time, they become dependent on protocols instead for identity, trust, and verifiable claims, essentially becoming replaceable entrances rather than unbreakable choke points.
• The Currency (Proof, Not Pitch Decks): The Fellowship is focused on learning how to create economic receipts. These aren't just logs; they are cryptographic instruments that prove: “I did this action,” and “This measurable outcome resulted.” This means you stop asking centralized "capital platforms" (like VCs or banks) for permission and instead plug into "capital protocols" that automatically pay you based on verifiable outcomes. The math pays the proof.
• The Engine (Agency): This is all powered by agency, which we see as the essential power to create order from noise. It’s the ability to forge complexity and beauty, like creating music, not just making simple choices. This intense, embodied environment is necessary because true agency is revealed only when tested in reality, not in endless thought experiments.
The result is a set of Protocol Blueprints that are bankable, auditable, and ready to attract mission-aligned capital.
We look forward to sharing some phenomenal food and debating how we make this next phase, the Protocol Embassy, a reality that defines the future of decentralized coordination. Let's talk about building the new rails together!
