About Event

How do you build a carbon project that actually works for smallholder farmers in India?

In this NTC Now session, we're speaking with Vijay from Carbon Mint about the ACRAT Project. This collaboration brings together farmers, global researchers, Indian universities, and startups to co-design a scalable soil carbon platform rooted in the realities of smallholder agriculture.

This isn't any other MRV pilot or data tool. It's a full-stack approach that combines field sensors, drone and satellite data, AI models, and real-time advisory systems, all adapted to work in India’s highly fragmented farming landscape. Alongside the tech, the team is working through complex land ownership patterns, farmer trust, and policy alignment to make soil carbon viable at scale.

We’ll explore the technical architecture, the day-to-day farmer experience, and how Carbon Mint is designing for long-term measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) using VM42 and VM47 protocols. The session will also highlight where there’s active interest in collaboration, from low-cost SOC estimation to scaling farmer advisory services.

If you're working on climate, agriculture, MRV, or looking to partner with teams solving tough challenges in emerging markets, then this session is for you.

Why Attend

  • Get a real-world look at how Carbon Mint is building soil carbon projects that work at smallholder scale - with all the complexity that comes with it.

  • See how AI, drone, and satellite tech are being used together to improve soil data accuracy and drive farmer-level impact.

  • Learn how India’s land ownership structures, migration, and policy environment shape what tech solutions actually succeed.

  • Understand how this team is designing for verification under VM42 & VM47. And what that means for cost, credibility, and farmer inclusion.

  • Explore open opportunities for collaboration around low-cost SOC measurement, remote sensing, advisory platforms, and implementation partnerships.
