​Most blockchains rely on public-key cryptography that future quantum systems could compromise. While post-quantum standards are advancing rapidly, recent discussions within the blockchain space have surprisingly quieted down.

​This session explores recent research papers on post-quantum implementations across public and private networks. Presented from the perspective of a quantum information researcher rather than a traditional cryptographer, we will review current developments and discuss what upgrading blockchain cryptography looks like in practice.
