​The impact of genAI on development and the SDLC

​Development is experiencing a new phase of automation, similar to what we saw with DevOps. Numerous new tools are emerging, and it can be challenging to keep up with them. These tools, many empowered by agentic AI, are leading to new practices, and understanding the patterns of these practices will help you navigate the space of AI Native Development.

​Patrick Debois is a true pioneer—credited with coining the term DevOps, co-authoring the DevOps Handbook, and launching the very first DevOpsDays back in 2009. Since then, he’s been shaping the tech industry with his unmatched ability to bring development, operations, and now GenAI together in truly transformative ways. 

​Large-scale refactors with Agents

​Today's agents are best at small, atomic coding tasks. Much larger tasks--like major refactors and breaking dependency updates--are highly automatable but hard to one-shot.

In this session, we'll discuss patterns for orchestrating large-scale code changes with swarms of agents and a human in the loop.

Robert Brennan is the CEO of OpenHands, the leading open source coding agent. He's spent the last decade making open source developer tools, with a focus on coding agents, Kubernetes, and REST APIs. Before that, he worked on natural language processing as a Senior SWE at Google.
