About Event

Interspecies Internet, together with Nature Tech Collective, is hosting a small working session during New York Climate Week to explore what it will take to move interspecies communication research from isolated breakthroughs toward shared, interoperable infrastructure — and to begin exploring how AI-learned representations of animal signals could support interaction, beyond interpretation.

This session brings together researchers, engineers, technologists, conservation practitioners, ethicists, and philanthropic partners to focus on:

  • The major technical, scientific, and governance opportunities and challenges facing the field

  • Where coordination and shared infrastructure are currently missing

  • Priorities for collaboration across the ecosystem — from sensing and data collection through to models, infrastructure, and application

  • Whether an ongoing interdisciplinary working group makes sense, and what it could look like

  • Opportunities for collaborative funding and future programmes

An important note:
The in-person group for this session is already set — we have invited a small, focused group to keep the working conversation productive in the room.

This page is meant to share the work we're starting, to sign up for joining remotely, and for helping us map who's working in this space.

As you sign up you will be asked to tell us a bit about what you're working on, please fill this as carefully as possible and we'll follow up if there's a fit.

Can't make the time or timezone work? Sign up anyway. We're building an ongoing network around this work and will keep you posted on future sessions, working groups, and ways to contribute.
