About Event

Join Us for the Launch of LSE Generate's Race Equity Reverse Mentoring Programme!

We’re excited to kick off a groundbreaking initiative that connects emerging entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders in a unique two-way learning experience. This event is your chance to meet the cohort, hear inspiring stories and learn how reverse mentoring can transform the entrepreneurial landscape.

The Race Equity Programme is proud to introduce its new Reverse Mentoring initiative, created in response to strong calls from entrepreneurs of colour at Generate. This programme is designed to foster meaningful connections between emerging entrepreneurs and experienced business leaders, while creating a two-way learning experience that benefits both parties.

What is Reverse Mentoring?
Unlike traditional mentoring, reverse mentoring is a reciprocal relationship. Mentees—often new to entrepreneurship—gain guidance and insights from seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts. At the same time, mentors broaden their perspectives by learning from the lived experiences and innovative ideas of their mentees. This approach ensures that knowledge flows in both directions, creating a richer, more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Programme Objectives

  • Expand networks: Mentees will gain access to mentors who have “been there and done that,” opening doors to new opportunities and connections.

  • Build confidence: Through regular meetings and shadowing experiences, mentees will learn to problem-solve effectively and avoid common pitfalls.

  • Broaden perspectives: Mentors will benefit from fresh viewpoints and diverse expertise, helping them to challenge assumptions and embrace inclusive practices.

Mentors in this programme will be experienced professional leaders or entrepreneurs of any ethnicity who are interested in being matched with a mentee from January-May 2026.

Mentees in this programme will be entrepreneurs of colour who are interested in being matched with a mentor from January-May 2026.
