Project Idea to Investment: Where Can AI Actually Help?
There is no shortage of new AI tools. The harder question is: what do we actually need them to do?
Carbon A List and Regen Network are bringing together project developers, investors, funders, technologists, and environmental-market practitioners for a hands-on design session focused on two critical jobs: developing high-quality environmental projects and deciding whether to invest in them.
Moving a project from idea to investment still requires navigating fragmented data, methodologies, technical expertise, diligence, risk, and a lot of manual work. AI could change that—but only if we start with the actual decisions people are trying to make.
This is not a pitch session or product showcase. We’ll work from real problems and workflows, using a Jobs-to-be-Done approach to identify:
the decisions that matter most,
what makes them difficult today,
the information and methods needed to act, and
where AI could genuinely make the process faster, easier, more rigorous, or more accessible.
The goal is to leave with a clearer picture of where AI can actually help move regenerative and environmental projects from opportunity to implementation and investment—and where it can’t.
Come prepared to contribute a real decision, bottleneck, or workflow you’ve encountered. You’ll also have the chance to compare notes with people working on the other side of the project-to-capital equation and help shape practical AI use cases for the sector.
