In this live one-hour course for Journey Clinical members, Casey Paleos, MD, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of InnerMost, offers a framework for understanding non-ordinary states that accounts for a person's subjective experience rather than reducing it to brain chemistry. Drawing on his Cellular Model of the Ego (CMOTE), he explores how psychedelics loosen the boundaries of ordinary self-experience. He also covers what this means for inner healing intelligence, set and setting, and the intrapersonal, interpersonal, and transpersonal dimensions of healing.

About Casey Paleos, MD
Casey Paleos, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist, researcher, and educator who has spent nearly two decades at the frontier of psychedelic medicine. He served as Principal Investigator and Certified Therapy Supervisor on MAPS’ Phase II and Phase III MDMA-assisted therapy trials for PTSD, as a Study Therapist on the NYU Psilocybin Cancer Anxiety Study, and as Co-Principal Investigator on the NYU-Bellevue Ketamine for Depression Study. He has published in the American Journal of Psychiatry and Nature Medicine, and he authored two chapters in the American Psychological Association’s forthcoming textbook on psychedelic-assisted therapy. He has trained psychedelic therapists through MAPS, Journey Clinical, and Fluence. As Inaugural Medical Director and Clinical Program Designer at Journey Clinical, he designed its clinical protocol with Myriam Barthes. He is a founding board member of the International Alliance of Psychedelic Therapy Practitioners and Founder of Natuilus Sanctuary, a 501(c)3 conducting clinical research.
