East & North East India Data Sprint - India Sand Watch
Veditum & India Sand Watch are hosting our seventh data sprint with a focus on East & North East India.
Veditum’s ‘Data Sprints’ aim to bring together communities of open-data enthusiasts, and people concerned about rivers - particularly about the issue of river sand mining, to participate in a collective, day-long, intensive data digitisation effort.
This data is then open, and freely accessible on the India Sand Watch platform for anyone wishing to use it for on-ground action, research, media reports, legal action etc.
The outcome of the sprint is a systematic, structured compilation of data on sand mining locations, news, and survey reports for rivers from East & North East India - which will serve as a great resource for everyone involved with the issue.
