Cannes in the City
A pre-Cannes networking evening for the film industry featuring a live demo of the distribution technology that US distributors requested contracts for at Cannes 2025.
Heading to Cannes this year? Wish you were? Either way, join us.
Cannes in the City returns to Soho for an evening of drinks, networking, and a first look at infrastructure that could reshape how independent film gets distributed.
At the Cannes Film Festival last year, we sat down with 23 US film distributors. 19 of them pledged or expressed strong interest to adopt what we showed them. The problem we're solving isn't abstract — distributors accept minimum guarantees that hand the upside to content platforms, wait months for payments they can't verify, and surrender control to platforms that own the audience relationship. Creators, paid last in the chain, fare even worse.
This evening, we're doing something those meetings couldn't: a live demonstration of Fabstir v2 — a working streaming platform where any distributor can launch their own branded destination, receive transparent instant payments via smart contract, and keep control of their content, audience and data. The demo will be running on real hardware provided by our infrastructure partner StonesThro, a UK-based edge computing company.
No slides-only pitch. No vapourware. A live, end-to-end walkthrough: content upload, revenue negotiation between creator and platform operator, viewer playback, and verifiable on-chain payment splits, all in under 30 minutes.
Whether you're a distributor, filmmaker, producer, sales agent, or just fascinated by where the industry is heading, this is worth your Wednesday evening.
