SC Ventures Lab Crawl Panel 4: Policy Rewiring: When AI Moves Money
About Event
AI agents are no longer just recommending payments. With stablecoins and programmable rails, they can initiate and settle them too. That raises questions existing rules weren’t written for. What should an agent be allowed to do on its own, when does a human need to approve, and who is accountable when something goes wrong? This session brings together banking, blockchain and regulatory perspectives to look at the permissions, oversight and safeguards needed before agents can be trusted to move real value.
On the agenda:
From recommend to execute: what changes when an AI agent can actually move money
Delegated authority: spending limits, approved counterparties and the thresholds that should trigger human approval
Know your agent: how agents are identified, authenticated and tied back to the person or business they act for
When things go wrong: liability for errors, fraud or a compromised agent, and what happens when a stablecoin transaction can’t be reversed
Compliance by design: building sanctions screening, AML checks and audit trails into the transaction itself
Are current rules fit for purpose, or does agentic finance need a new rulebook?
