Systems, Storytelling and Science: leveraging deep change for a better future with Common Earth
The earth’s temperature is rising. Humans are rapidly destroying the environment that sustains us in countless ways. The obscene inequality in distribution of wealth and innumerable other social inequities are growing. Structural racism is translating into climate injustice. Armed conflicts contribute to resource exploitation, environmental destruction, human displacement and loss of life.
Common Earth recognises that these are all interrelated issues and that people struggle with what to do. Climate crisis is the existential crisis of our times, and while the reality is that there are no obvious or easy answers, the only appropriate response to the climate crisis is deep, systemic change. By challenging the thinking that created the problematic systems in the first place, Common Earth guides you through a journey that will lead you from a state of anxiety and helplessness to the recognition and experience of your own agency and wisdom.
Common Earth explores systems thinking, the physics and thermodynamics of climate change, storytelling, nature’s wisdom and the human experience as a unique approach to understanding the climate crisis.
Equipped with this deeper understanding of the dynamics at play, you will feel empowered to take meaningful action that moves us all toward a caring society where we can thrive within Earth’s natural limits.
We are building a community of people with this new perspective. Together this community can overcome the barriers and share in the emerging caring society that puts carbon in its place and honours the sanctity of the human and more-than-human world.
Join us for this interactive event that will introduce you to Common Earth, the community for a post carbon caring society. Together we’ll explore our approach to personal, community and planetary wellbeing through systems thinking, storytelling, science and imagination.
