The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage, in collaboration with XSpace Gallery, is pleased to present the art exhibition "Wastheritage: The Ephemeral Value" by Asst. Prof. Eggarat Wongcharit.
Eggarat Wongcharit is a visionary artist who challenges our perceptions of value and worth. Through his thought-provoking works, he explores the intersection of waste and heritage, highlighting the ephemeral nature of value in a world where today's trash may become tomorrow's treasure. Born out of the COVID-19 pandemic's isolation, his art reflects on the human experience, encouraging us to rethink our relationship with the objects we discard and the legacy we leave behind. With a unique blend of creativity and social commentary, Eggarat's art invites us to ponder the future's past and the value of what we consider worthless.
For the inaugural Bangkok Climate Action Week, Eggarat's futuristic relics will be shown on the grounds of The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage, from the auditorium to the library, alongside the display of treasured cultural artefacts and works of traditional craftsmanship.

ในนิทรรศการ “Wastheritage: The Ephemeral Value” ผศ.เอกรัตน์ วงศ์จริต สร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะและเฟอร์นิเจอร์จากบรรจุภัณฑ์เหลือใช้จากการสั่งซื้อสินค้าออนไลน์ในช่วงการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19
ผลงานในนิทรรศการนี้สะท้อนถึงความไม่ยั่งยืนของคุณค่าในโลกที่ขยะของวันนี้อาจกลายเป็นสิ่งล้ำค่าในวันหน้า และเชื้อเชิญให้เราหันกลับมาทบทวนความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างตัวเรากับสิ่งของที่ถูกทิ้งและ “มรดก” ที่เราทิ้งไว้ภายหลังรวมถึงการใคร่ครวญถึงการให้คุณค่า และการนำ “ขยะ” มาสร้างประโยชน์สูงสุดในปัจจุบัน
ในเทศกาล Bangkok Climate Action Week ครั้งปฐมฤกษ์นี้ ผลงานศิลปะที่ผลิตจากโบราณวัตถุแห่งโลกอนาคตจะถูกจัดแสดงทั่วพื้นที่ของสยามสมาคมในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ ตั้งแต่หอประชุมจนถึงห้องสมุด เคียงข้างศิลปวัตถุและโบราณวัตถุในโลกปัจจุบันของสมาคม
