About Event

Countries around the world have committed to conserving and effectively managing at least 30% of the planet's land and sea by 2030. Meeting that ambition will require action well beyond governments and the conservation sector. Business has a significant role to play, but the case for its involvement cannot rest on responsibility alone.

This conversation will explore how businesses can benefit from supporting the 30x30 ambition. Where does investing in nature align with commercial priorities, from more resilient supply chains and reduced exposure to nature-related risks to stronger relationships with customers, communities, and governments? And what would meaningful business participation look like beyond making commitments?

The discussion will also examine the tension between the urgency of the global target and the practical realities businesses face. What makes it difficult for companies to act? Where are the clearest opportunities for business to contribute resources, capabilities, influence, and investment? And how can companies distinguish credible action from activity that has little impact on nature?

With 2030 approaching, the session will bring business leaders and others working on nature and conservation into a practical conversation about where commercial interests and global conservation goals can reinforce one another, and what it will take to turn that alignment into action.

What to expect

A focused, participatory discussion rather than a traditional presentation. Business leaders and participants will be invited to share the opportunities, barriers, and questions they encounter when considering how their organizations can contribute to nature protection and restoration.

The emphasis will be on practical exchange: identifying where businesses can play a useful role, what would make participation compelling, and where new partnerships could help move from ambition to implementation.

Who this is for

This session is for business leaders, investors, sustainability and nature leads, funders, conservation practitioners, and others interested in how the private sector can contribute to the global 30x30 ambition while creating meaningful value for their organizations.
