Macaulay Honors Datathon Showcase Day 1
From Thursday September 24th through Saturday September 26th, Macaulay Honors College will be showcasing a shortlist of eight finalists for its annual datathon in collaboration with The Marcy Lab School.
This competitive event has attracted more than 300 students from across CUNY to tackle the real-world challenge of how to understand air pollution using the tools of data science, data integrity, and data storytelling.
The datathon participants will be presenting mapping models that begin to tell the overall traffic migration story and the impacts that congestion pricing has had on the city in terms of air quality.
For Day 1, the Macaulay researchers will be joined by the team from OpenPlans.org, who will be sharing their work to promote a people-first street culture that prioritizes community, active mobility, and connection: proof that public interest tech reshapes physical infrastructure, not just software.
