Towards the discovery of other Earths: the role of AI

This session will be a seminar given by Prof. Yann Alibert and Sara Marques (PhD student), to present how AI can be used to help discovering planets like the Earth. After an introduction on the process of planetary system formation, we will show how Transformer architecture (the architecture at the basis of all LLMs) can be used to predict in which extrasolar planetary systems it is more likely to observe an Earth twin. Participants will learn the physical basis on how planet form, how extrasolar planets can be observed, and how AI can help these observations.
