Initial Conditions for the Bioeconomy
In physics and quantum systems, initial conditions describe a starting point: the moment where possibilities open up, interactions begin, and new paths become available. They don’t dictate outcomes; they shape the space in which things can emerge.
As quantum biology increasingly intersects with biomanufacturing, industrial biotechnology, and the broader bioeconomy, the early moments matter: the conversations that happen before ideas are fully formed, the connections made across disciplines, and the environments where translation begins. These early interactions help shape how the Los Angeles ecosystem develops and grows into translatable bioeconomy applications.
Founders, Friends & Fermentation is bringing this community together to create those initial conditions: welcoming scientists, founders, builders, and the bioeconomy-curious into a relaxed space where ideas can mix, evolve, and spark new directions. No pressure, just good conversations and shared curiosity.
We’ll begin with an optional 5:00–6:00 PM lab and space tour (limited availability first come first RSVPs and email confirmation prior to event) at the Quantum Biology Institute, exploring how emerging work in quantum biology may inform future approaches to biomanufacturing, industrial biotech, and bioeconomy innovation.
At 6:00 PM, we’ll gather at Frogtown Brewery for an easygoing happy hour open to the broader community—whether you joined the tour or are meeting us there. Expect familiar faces, new introductions, and conversations at the intersection of science, startups, and the bioeconomy.
