​Narrated by the acclaimed Hugh Bonneville, this film weaves together insights from esteemed historians and the courageous testimony of survivors. Together, they examine how ideologies born of optimism ultimately paved the way for the deprivation and slaughter that defined the era’s most notorious dictatorships.
