IL Concealed Carry Two-Day Class
This class is split over two 8-hour days. YOU WILL NEED TO ATTEND DAY TWO which will be the same time, day of the week, and location exactly one week after day one.
All of my classes are inclusive spaces with a specific focus on the LGBTQ community. If you are more comfortable in a queer-friendly space I encourage you to join regardless of your personal identity. Anyone who deliberately disrespects another student or makes someone to feel uncomfortable will be asked to leave and will not receive a refund.
In this class you'll learn everything required by the State of Illinois to apply for a Concealed Carry License. Students who complete the class successfully will receive a certificate to provide to the Illinois State Police with their CCL application. You must successfully complete the live fire qualification at a shooting range to receive your certificate.
No experience or prior knowledge is expected. You do not need to provide your own firearm or ammunition for the qualification, but you may use your own if desired. Please bring your own hearing and eye protection or purchase them at the range.
The classroom location will be shared after registration:
Less than 1 mile from Damen Blue Line or North/Clybourn Red Line
Accessible via #9 Ashland Ave or #72 North Ave CTA Bus
The classroom portion is split over two 8-hour days. Half of the class will proceed to the shooting range for qualifications at the end of Day One and the other half will go to the range on Day Two. Subject to availability, you may decide which day you would like to do your qualification.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING YOUR OWN TRAVEL TO THE RANGE. I do my best to work with gun ranges that are accessible via public transit, but you will need to travel outside of the city.
The range we will be doing the qualifications at is Maxon Shooters in Des Plaines, IL near O'Hare Airport. Expect to be at the range from about 6:30-8:30pm depending on the number of students that need do their qualifications.
