Knitting 201: Knit Happens - The Dupe for the Paloma Wool Balaclava
Knit a cozy balaclava while refining your technique and working from a guided garment pattern inspired by the coveted Paloma Wool Balaclava.
This class is 2 Days long:
Day 1: Saturday, January 31st 2:30 pm - 5:00pm
Day 2: Sunday, February the 1st 12:00 - 2:30pm
This two-day intermediate knitting class is designed for knitters who already know the knit and purl stitches and are ready to take on a more structured wearable project.
Over the course of the weekend, you’ll knit a balaclava inspired by the Paloma Wool–style silhouette, focusing on construction, shaping, and clean finishing. The class balances hands-on instruction with independent working time, giving you space to build confidence stitch by stitch.
Day One (Saturday afternoon, January 31):
We’ll introduce the pattern, review garment construction, and walk through fit and structure. Students will choose from three yarn color options and begin knitting with guidance throughout. A finished sample will be available as a reference so you can see where your work is headed. Students are encouraged to take their project home between sessions to continue knitting and get a head start before day two.
Day Two (Sunday afternoon, February 1):
The focus shifts to finishing. We’ll troubleshoot any issues, refine details, and guide students through the casting off process. There will be time for questions, adjustments, and technique support so you can bind off with confidence and not leave any loose ends.
If the balaclava is not completed during class, students will leave with the full pattern and all materials needed to finish the project at home.
