​The HKUST AI Film Festival leverages Hong Kong’s unique position as a cultural hub and the university’s distinctive strengths in AI-generated content research, technological expertise, and innovative spirit to transcend the boundaries between technology and art, Eastern and Western cultures, and tradition and avant-garde expression.

​The second edition of the AI Film Festival, themed New Boundaries, New Life, will be held at HKUST on May 16–17. It will not only showcase the latest artistic and technological works from academia and industry worldwide but also invite renowned scholars, industry experts, and leading enterprises from around the globe to exchange insights on cutting-edge developments.

​The second edition has invited judges and guests including Paul Debevec (Chief Scientist at Netflix Studio), Tia Carrere (Hollywood actress, two-time Grammy Award winner), Tony Ngai (Asia-Pacific Governor of SMPTE), Li Ding (Adobe), Jiajian Min (Chair of The Global AI Film Hack@MIT), Jean Peic Chou (Chair of the Busan International Film Festival AI Section), Jacob Adler (Runway AI Film Festival Gold Prize winner, Professor at the University of Arizona), Professor Lei Wang (Dean of the School of Animation and Digital Arts, Communication University of China), and Professor Tao Tao (Professor at the Central Academy of Drama, Gold Award winner of the International Science and Education Film China Dragon Awards).
