Nature Tech Demo Day - Measuring Biodiversity Across the Value Chain
The Challenge
Knowing where your nature impacts sit is only half the battle. The harder question — the one that stops most corporate sustainability teams in their tracks — is: what is actually happening to biodiversity at those locations?
For companies with sprawling supply chains, this is genuinely complex. Biodiversity doesn't behave like carbon. It's location-specific, multi-dimensional, and notoriously difficult to aggregate into a number that means something to a procurement team or a board. A forest in Brazil is not interchangeable with a wetland in Southeast Asia. A site-level eDNA survey tells a different story than a satellite-derived habitat integrity index.
And yet the demand for biodiversity data is accelerating — driven by CSRD's double materiality requirements, TNFD's LEAP framework, GRI 101, and growing investor pressure to understand nature-related risk at the asset and portfolio level.
What This Demo Day Is
A focused, curated session bringing together 3-4 nature tech solution providers working on biodiversity measurement — from eDNA and bioacoustics to remote sensing, satellite-based habitat monitoring, and sector-specific tools for industries like construction materials.
Each presenter gets 10-15 minutes to demonstrate their solution, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. Solutions are selected for their complementarity across scale, methodology, and sector application — so that together they offer a grounded picture of what biodiversity measurement can look like in practice today.
Who Should Attend
Sustainability, environmental, and procurement teams trying to understand biodiversity impacts at site or supplier level
Corporate nature leads preparing for TNFD, CSRD, or SBTN target-setting
Project developers and land managers needing credible biodiversity baselines
Consultants and financial institutions building biodiversity data into risk assessments
Anyone asking: "I know I need biodiversity data — but what kind, from where, and how do I use it?"
What You'll Leave With
A clearer sense of the biodiversity measurement toolkit available today.
About the NTC Demo Day Series
This is the second event in NTC's 2026 Nature & Biodiversity Demo Day Series — four quarterly sessions, each built around a validated challenge from ecosystem. Having explored supply chain traceability in Q1, we now go deeper into what it takes to actually measure what's there. The series continues with nature metrics for management (Q3) and nature risk as strategic value (Q4).
