About Event

Amsterdam Data Design Den is back for its third event! And we have a full house of amazing talks:

Gergo Varga

Gergo animates things that have already lived a life. His studio is a tactile sanctuary of vintage ads, yellowed newspapers, scanners, and markers, where he hunts for "juuust the right" textures to scan into his digital collages. These hand-cut elements eventually come alive to explain complex concepts, illustrate data, and drive narratives. His creative path has been consistently shaped by water, from his formal education on an island in Abu Dhabi to the banks of Budapest and the canal-lined streets of Amsterdam. This fluid background mirrors his fluid process: taking raw audio, building custom imagery, and breathing movement into it with a sense of levity and jest.

Specializing in narrative animation and playful data visualization, Gergo purposefully flouts the "of the moment" tics of soulless AI-generated content or sterile vector explainers. His work is inherently arch and intentionally imperfect; his characters might be missing a limb or two, as he prioritizes personality over realistic movement. Eschewing the polished and the predictable, he focuses on creating motion design that feels hand-made and genuinely alive. For those who value a human touch and a slightly offbeat aesthetic, Gergo brings a unique analog soul to the digital screen.

Carlo Bramanti

Carlo Bramanti is a visual designer and independent researcher based in Rotterdam. His work focuses on researching design culture, visual studies, and their relationships with politics and communities. He holds a BA in graphic design from ISIA Urbino and an MA from Design Academy Eindhoven. In 2025, he published Conspiratorial Design - Information Design for the Bigger Picture with Set Margins', a critical essay where he discusses the relationship between design and conspiracy theories, intended as two all-encompassing understandings of the world.

Market Cafe Magazine

Market Cafe Magazine is a zine about data visualization.

Reading Market Cafe Magazine you will hear from different voices about what designing information means and where it's going. Our mad research brought us to discover the most talented and finest people in the industry to guide you through this journey.

The latest issue of Market Cafe Magazine explores the invisible side of information: the gaps, voids, and silences in data. This issue explores what happens when knowledge is withheld, unrecorded, or lost — and how these absences can tell stories of their own.

Market Cafe Mag will present exclusively the new issue at ADDD.
