About Event

PNW Battery Collaborative: Microsoft Lab Tour

Join the Pacific Northwest Battery Collaborative (PNWBC) during PNW Climate Week for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Microsoft’s battery lab. As the region's largest battery-focused professional association, we are excited to offer battery community a unique opportunity to engage directly with industry-leading engineers and explore the technology driving the future of energy storage.

Event Overview

  • Date: Tuesday, July 14, 2026

  • Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

  • Capacity: Strictly limited to 30 attendees

  • Purpose: To tour Microsoft's battery characterization lab, view exhibits of the team's current work, and network with the battery engineering team

Location & Logistics

  • Host: Microsoft Battery Characterization Lab

  • Parking: Free parking is available for all pre-registered participants.

    • If you require parking please provide your license plate information during registration to be added to the authorized visitor system.

  • Directions: Please avoid the garage directly under the building (no lobby access without a badge). Directions to the preferred visitor parking garage will be sent to confirmed attendees prior to the event.

    • Public Transit: The local transit station (bus and light rail) is approximately a 10-minute walk from the facility.

Run of Show

The event is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing you to arrive and depart at your convenience within the three-hour window.

Arrival & Briefing: Upon arrival, lab staff will escort small groups from the lobby to a reserved conference room. You will receive a short briefing and introduction to the facility

The Lab Tour: Tours will run periodically throughout the afternoon.

Duration: Approximately 30 minutes per tour. Attendees will sign up for their tour time upon arrival.

Group Size: Limited to 5–6 people per group to ensure ample time for Q&A with the characterization manager and engineers.

Exhibits & Networking: While waiting for a tour or after completing one, attendees are invited to stay in the conference room to view technical exhibits and interact with members of the Microsoft battery team.

Important Registration Notes

To ensure we meet Microsoft's security requirements, the final attendee list—including vehicle information—must be submitted by the end of June. Please RSVP early to secure your spot!
