

Earth Day: Intro to Injection Molding at Precious Plastic NYC
Join Women in Design NYC for a hands-on workshop at Precious Plastic NYC as we launch our new series, Creator Collective. **This event is open to women and non-binary individuals of all experience levels in industrial design who want to learn more about injection molding.**
Step inside the studio of Precious Plastic NYC that is redefining the lifecycle of materials. This workshop introduces the fundamentals of injection molding and circular manufacturing, guided by founder Gary Dusek.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Machine Operation: Gain hands-on experience with the setup, safety protocols, and operation of an industrial shredder, machine saw, and injection molding machine.
Tooling & Molds: Learn the mechanics of mold setup, understanding how part geometry and mold design influence the final physical outcome.
Injection Process: Learn the fundamentals of tooling: mold materials, costs, design requirements, and the technicalities of the injection process.

B. Intro to injection + 1 mini planter $55
(Approximately 2.75" tall x 3.55" diameter)

⚠️ Safety First: Please wear hair tied back, closed-toe shoes, and comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a bit dusty. We recommend bringing a mask (N95 or similar), as the plastic injection process can produce odors and fumes.

Creators Collective is a new WID NYC series dedicated to tactile exploration and skill-building.
