In this hands-on workshop will be covering introductory and intermediate search skills for locating digitized and paper maps in Stanford University Libraries' collections and beyond for use in nearly any discipline. Open to any and all levels of interest in maps, GIS, geospatial data, and data visualization -- come see (and touch) some amazing maps.
Attendees of can expect to learn how to find and collect maps for use in their own work. We will cover:

Browsing for physical items in the Branner Earth Sciences Library Map Collections
Geospatial search tools (EarthWorks, NMDGB)
Map content discovery tools (text on maps DavidRumsey.com)
Semantic search for maps (Wikidata)
Citing maps (Zotero)
