About Event

For generations, the “American Dream” has been sold as a simple formula: work hard, buy the house with the white picket fence, raise your family in a picture perfect neighborhood, and watch your life unfold like a postcard. But for Black and Brown communities, that dream has always been more myth than promise; an illusion designed to look attainable while remaining out of reach.

In this episode, we peel back the glossy layers of that dream and talk honestly about who it was built for, who it excluded, and why so many people are finally waking up to the truth. Rising costs, stagnant wages, and generational barriers didn’t just appear; they’ve always been part of the architecture.

But this conversation isn’t about despair. It’s about liberation.

We explore what it means to step outside the script and define success on our own terms. We talk about dreaming beyond survival, imagining futures that center joy, rest, creativity, and community, not just labor. And we challenge the idea that fulfillment must be earned through struggle or proximity to wealth. Your task after listening: spend intentional time naming your dream. This is the one rooted in your values, your lived experience, and your vision for the life you deserve. Then take one small, concrete step toward it. Not the dream America marketed to you. The dream you choose for yourself.

This episode is an invitation to reclaim possibility, rewrite the narrative, and build a life that feels like home.
