We are thrilled to present another performance of the Hadron Lake project, in 3D sound under Reforesters’ sonic vault. Inspired by the primordial soup, teeming ecosystems, and the beauty of mathematical patterns, Hadron Lake is an ode to the fabric of our universe, and to the future dreams of our technological culture. The hopeful spawn of two years of R&D, it blends sounds from all sources with live modular synths, within a world created in the Supercollider programming language.
In this simulated environment, each sound is a little entity with its own set of rules, live interactions with its fellows, and a will of its own. Brought to life by a half-sphere of precise speakers and a set of enveloping bass, they want to encourage lifting off and drifting away with ears wide.
An invitation to lie down, close our eyes and look into the firmament.

Armand has been evolving in the NY underground for a while now. After studying sciences and electronic composition at Columbia, he started several bands in the free jazz scene where he blends acoustic musicians with electronic processing live. Now a student of Indian classical music with Michael Harrison, he works as Hadron Lake on creating microtonal worlds where eastern and western traditions meet and look to the future.
Armand also plays dance music as a DJ and cofounded the Nomads underground party. His world is made of spacey beats, deep soundscapes, and otherworldly harmonies.

Reforesters Laboratory is an experimental adaptogen cafe and sound clinic located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We utilize music – including spatial, sub-bass-centered, and organic instrumentation – along with breathwork, meditation, art, plant care and adaptogenic, nutritional foods + beverages to cultivate kindness—both physical and spiritual. We aim to create an environment that offers peace, space, and clarity, helping people understand the connections between themselves, their communities, and the world around them. To that end, we offer "pay what you can" ticket options on all events and classes.
