As part of our Live Reading Picnics Under the Trees series, this event features a reading of our published story “Play for the Mangroves,” highlighting how youth leadership, sports, and environmental education intersect to protect our fragile coastal ecosystems.
Set beneath the shade of the trees at Maurice Gibb Memorial Park, this soul-nourishing morning invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature and one another.
At the heart of the gathering is a live reading from Impact.Edition, followed by a casual community conversation. Local organizations and individuals working to protect mangrove ecosystems will be part of the gathering, creating an opportunity to learn more about the importance of these coastal forests and the collective efforts to safeguard them.
Bring a blanket, bring a friend, and come ready to be inspired — by the stories we share, the ground we walk, and the trees that remind us to stay rooted in resistance.

Please find our tent next to the Venetian Bridge, right by the mangroves. Light breakfast refreshments and water will be provided.
