About Event

The energy transition is one of the largest capital reallocations in modern history, and it needs people. Founders to build the companies, investors to fund them, and operators to scale what works. The question is where the real openings are right now.

Join us for a conversation with two leaders working on the transition from very different vantage points:

The entrepreneur: Kevin O’Connor, Caporus Technologies, a materials deep tech startup incubated at Argonne National Laboratory, developing capacitor technology for grid infrastructure, power electronics, and emerging applications in fusion and geothermal energy.

The investor: Ian Adams, managing director at Evergreen Climate Innovations, a climate-focused investor backing early-stage companies working on decarbonization.

Each will give a short talk on how the sector works today and where it’s headed, followed by a panel discussion and a networking reception to close. Expect candid talk about which problems are solvable now, which are still waiting on technology or policy, and where the talent gaps are widest.

Agenda

  • 5:00–5:30 PM: Lightning talks

  • 5:30–6:15 PM: Panel discussion and Q&A

  • 6:15–7:00 PM: Networking

Come if you’re exploring a career in energy, sitting on a venture idea, or simply curious about what the transition actually looks like from the inside. No background in energy required, just bring your questions. Food and drinks will be provided during networking.
