Amsterdam | Cycladic Forms: A Clay Handbuilding Workshop with wine (or tea) inspired by ancient Greek sculpture
Hosted in partnership with Paris Vivianne Panigiri
📍 Pink Poodle Society Studio | Amsterdam Oost
🗓 January 25th
🕛 12:30 - 3:00
Join us for a slow, contemplative afternoon of clay as we explore the timeless beauty of Cycladic figurines—ancient sculptural forms shaped thousands of years ago in the heart of the Aegean. Known for their quiet presence, simplified human silhouettes, and balanced proportions, these figures feel both deeply ancient and strikingly modern.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will create their own Cycladic-style figure using intuitive handbuilding techniques. Guided step by step, you’ll work slowly with clay to shape a traditional form rooted in ancient Greek art, while being encouraged to respond to it personally. The focus is on simplicity, rhythm, and proportion rather than detail or perfection.
Participants may choose to honour the minimalist aesthetic of the Cyclades by keeping their piece pure and understated, or introduce a contemporary essence through subtle surface textures, modern details, or painted elements. By the end of the session, each participant will have created a sculptural piece that bridges past and present—a timeless form reimagined through a personal, modern lens.
No prior experience is needed. This workshop is designed to be grounding, expressive, and quietly powerful—an invitation to slow down and work with form, history, and intuition.
🎨 Your ticket includes:

Guidance through sculptural handbuilding techniques
Acrylic paints to finish your piece
Tea and filtered coffee served throughout the workshop
