Join Climate Finance Solutions for an expert briefing on the newly-released DOE Battery Materials Processing & Battery Manufacturing and Recycling program, with approximately $500M allocated to create U.S. domestic infrastructure and supply chain.
The program will provide awards of $50M–100M per project to build demonstration and commercial-scale domestic facilities.
An optional 200-word LOI is due March 27; full applications are due April 24, 2026.
The current round includes three topic areas:
Topic Area 1: Domestic Critical Materials Processing from Raw Feedstocks

Production and processing capacity for battery materials from primary (mined) feedstocks
Focus on lithium, nickel, and cobalt supply chains
Topic Area 2: Domestic Critical Materials Recycling
$100M available
Recycling of end-of-life batteries and manufacturing scrap
Recovery of critical materials including graphite, nickel, and cobalt
Topic Area 3: Domestic Battery Materials and Component Manufacturing
$200M available
Manufacturing of advanced battery materials and components
Priority areas include synthetic graphite, cathode active materials, and specialty metals
