field:work | Drawing With Code (Live Model: Sonia Kwek)

​An afternoon translating the oldest art-school exercise: sitting in front of a still life and drawing what you see. But this time with code.

​We invite movement artist Sonia Kwek to move and model for us. We will spend the session generating code-based responses to it. Instead of pencil and paper, you'll have a web-based tool that we've created for you! The question then becomes: how can we see the world through algorithms? What does this medium abstract or exaggerate? What kind of picture emerges when a scene is described in loops, coordinates, and rules rather than lines?

​The Exploration Lab is less about producing polished images and more about treating computation as a way of seeing.

​Bring a laptop or tablet. Beginner-friendly. Starter code and objects provided.
