About Event

Creating a website doesn’t have to be overwhelming, even if you don’t consider yourself “techy.” In this beginner-friendly session, you’ll learn how to plan and build a simple, beautiful website to showcase your work using easy platforms like Wix and Squarespace.

We’ll walk through the process step by step so you know what to include, how to structure your site, and how to make it work for your goals, whether you want a simple portfolio or something more dynamic.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Choose the right platform and template for your needs

  • Organize your portfolio and tell your story (bio, gallery, contact, events, etc.)

  • Add an email sign-up to grow your audience (so you can reach people when you have a show or new work)

  • Understand basic SEO so people can find your work online

  • Set up (or improve) your Google Business Profile for local discoverability (if relevant)

  • Improve accessibility and explain why it also helps discoverability

  • Explore e-commerce options if you want to sell work or prints

  • Consider common concerns such as sharing images online and protecting your work

By the end, you’ll have clear next steps for creating an online home that feels professional, manageable, and true to your work.
