Thirteen years ago, I launched my first business — and I honestly had no idea what I was doing.
I thought success meant having a perfect logo, a perfect plan, and a perfect launch. Spoiler alert… none of that mattered. Within weeks, I realised entrepreneurship is less about perfection and more about survival, adaptation, and grit.
Over the years, I’ve learned some expensive lessons — the kind you can’t get from a business book. Things like: it’s never going to be perfect, cashflow is everything, systems save your sanity, and sometimes… you have to pivot to stay alive.
I want to share what I wish I knew 13 years ago — not the glossy version, but the real, gritty truths about starting, surviving, and scaling a business. Because if this talk can help you avoid just one of the mistakes I made, it’ll be worth it.
Here's what we'll discuss:
· Start. It will never be perfect, but it will improve through launching
· It’s all about cashflow baby!
· Systemise, Systemise, Systemise
· Scale
· Pivot, it’s ok. It’s the reality of the market
