About Event

Garden of Us is more than an event — it’s an invitation to community. A space where art, food, and community come together to imagine and build a future rooted in care, creativity, and collective resilience.

We’re calling on artists, educators, youth, local chefs, gardeners, and community members to join us for an interactive 4-hour gathering — a vibrant showcase of the Art for Climate Resilience program.

During this event, you will experience:

  • A fireside chat with experts in Indigenous wisdom, ecological justice, and social permaculture with guest speakers Carol Burton from Urban Harvest, Ed Pettitt from Friends of Columbia Tap, and Alicia Fontenot.

  • Learn how creative exploration activities can be designed to deepen our connection with the land and each other.

  • Experience a collective visioning exercise — imagining what’s possible when we co-create with purpose.

  • A closing session led by Ryn Delpapa — weaving it all together and inviting you into the next steps.

Garden of Us is about participation — and we want you in the mix. Whether you see yourself as a local Houston or virtual program host, volunteer, steering committee member, or co-designer, this is your chance to help shape something powerful.

Come ready to share, imagine, and dig in. Let’s plant the seeds of community-rooted climate resilience — and watch them grow.

The cost of tickets goes to offset event expenses.
