Nucleate Boston X Jeffrey Karp Innovation Session
Join Nucleate Boston for an Innovation Session with Dr. Jeff Karp on Tuesday, October 20 at 5:30 PM.
Dr. Karp is a Professor at Harvard Medical School and MIT and a Distinguished Chair at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His work in bioinspiration has led to 100+ patents, drawing design principles from nature to solve challenging medical problems. He has also co-founded 13 companies that have collectively raised more than $600M.
In this session, Dr. Karp will share his 5 key steps to academic translation and answer practical questions that researchers and aspiring founders often face, including:
When — and how — should I file patents?
What makes a dataset investor-ready?
When is the right time to form a company?
How can academic research move toward real-world and clinical impact?
The session will include a live Q&A, so bring your questions.
If you’re a graduate student, postdoc, PI, or researcher interested in translating your work beyond the lab, this is a great opportunity to learn from an experienced academic innovator and entrepreneur.
