Portland Remake Mending Club at Bolt!
Join us at Bolt for a mending gathering with the emerging Portland chapter of Remake. If you have a stack of items with tears, holes, or missing buttons, why not give them a new life and prevent them from ending up in the landfill? This gathering will be a low-key space full of community and stitching. We will provide basic instructions for simple mending of tears, holes, and missing buttons.
It's the perfect time to celebrate Remake's recent Fashion Industry Fact Sheet release. Featuring facts like the average consumer throws away 81.5 pounds of clothes a year, and 52% of consumers shopped secondhand in 2023, there's plenty to rethink and champion through mending.

This event will be held at the lovely Bolt Fabric Boutique. Bolt is located in NE Portland and has a selection of natural, sustainable apparel and quilting fabric, sewing supplies, and classes, thoughtfully curated for home sewers.
Please note that Bolt’s classroom space is on a second story. There is no elevator. All guests must be able to climb stairs. To accommodate those who cannot climb stairs at least 48 hours notice is needed.
We will have a limited amount of items to borrow or use during the event. Sewing machines will be available to attendees, but please note that that they are first come, first serve. Feel free to bring your own supplies to ensure there is enough for everyone, especially if you are looking to match something very specific.

Instructions to access the space: The studio portion of Bolt where this event will be held can be accessed on NE 29th Ave. Enter through the door labeled 4928B to the second floor.
