Building the Africa We Want: By Us, With Us, and For Us
About the session
Building the Africa We Want: By Us, With Us, and For Us is a call to reimagine Africa’s future through African leadership, ownership, and vision.
At a time when the continent is navigating funding shifts, external pressures, and persistent global inequality, this conversation will explore how Africans can move from dependency to dignity, from reaction to strategy, and from being spoken for to shaping and building for themselves.
The session will focus on what it takes to design systems, partnerships, and solutions that are rooted in local realities, led by communities, and oriented toward long term transformation. Speakers will reflect on how power, capital, and decision making can shift to support more locally driven approaches across the continent.
Speakers:
Brian Walusimbi, ED, Bless a Child Foundation
Chilande Kuloba-Warria, MD, Warande Advisory Centre
Atti Worku, Co-CEO, African Collaborative
Anna Ekeledo, CEO, AfriLabs
Mosun Layode, ED, African Philanthropy Forum
