ThisThis roundtable explores how capital can be structured to engage more effectively with nature-based systems, moving beyond isolated deals towards investments that reflect the realities of interconnected value networks.
The discussion will be grounded in practical experience. We will bring in a concrete example from our collaboration with Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) in the Amazon nuts value network, illustrating how different actors can take on complementary roles in financing and structuring interventions within the same system. While such an approach may appear concentrated from a traditional portfolio perspective, it reflects a systems-oriented logic aimed at strengthening multiple interdependent parts of a value network.
Building on this, the conversation will focus on a broader question: what does it take for capital to engage with complex, early-stage systems where risks, returns, and impact are not yet well aligned?
The objective of the roundtable is threefold.
First, to exchange perspectives on structuring approaches, constraints, and opportunities in financing nature-based systems.
Second, to identify actors interested in engaging with this type of investment logic.
Third, to explore potential pathways for continued collaboration beyond the session.
